When you're about that age

A zillion things to wonder about, and questions to be asked.
A bunch of strange answers coming in return.
A hard time sorting out what sounds logic, and what's definitely not.

Nothing much else to do but prop a flower in your ear then, and ask again if required...!

  1. I like the contrast between the formality of the uniform and the child putting the flower into his ear. Very cute.
What sort of uniform or costume is that? Is that a bugle or trumpet in his left hand?

    1. Thanks for the comment, Marcus :)
It's the grandson on last years norwegian constitutional day on the 17th of May. He is wearing a childs version of the traditional norwegian costume we call "bunad". Lots of people will be wearing the same thing on this particular day of the year. There are thousands of parades and things going on all over the place, and for the kids a small trumpet or whatever making some sort of terrible noise is absolutely mandatory.
If you simply put "17th of may in Norway" into google and choose "Images" I guess you'll get a good idea of what I'm talking about.

    2. I had a look at Wikipedia to see what it's all about. Looks like a lovely (but noisy) celebration. You can keep your lutefisk, though. :)

    3. It's noisy as heck, but we learn to live through it... and as long as there's enough hot dogs and ice cream no one seems to bother too much.
The lutefisk is hands down awful and would originally had to be made by pure accident alone. I mean who would even dare to make anything like that and at the same time suggest he still had his wits sort of under control? Had to be a big accident involving very strong alkalic liquid (soap or whatever) and a big dung of fish he refused to throw away.
Anyway, I wouldn't touch it no matter how hungry I get. My mother thinks it's delicious though. Don't even ask how that makes sense!

  2. That's a nice little portrait of your grandson, Roy. One for the wall, I suspect. He looks totally lost in thought...probably wondering when all the sweet stuff is coming his way :)

  3. Oh yes, my friend. If I ever get back home when the world hopefully has been put right side up, I will have this printed and hung somewhere :))
He is wondering about a million things at once this little man, I can tell you that much :))
